  1. I have never created an annotated bibliography before this project. I have used the sources, but i have never had to explain what the sources were about. Usually I would just reference it and use what i needed. Explaining each source and how it relates to your experiment will help you when you are writing your report. It takes the guess work out of trying to find how the source related to your work because usually you do secondary research before the experiment. When you go back to the secondary research after the experiment you might forget what was relevant in that source. Having an annotated bibliography can help someone greatly.

  2. I have not created a annotated bibliography before this. I do see the benefit of creating one with respect to a research project in that it greatly assists in organizing the project. The annotated bibliography also serves as a quick reference for me to remember points/arguments that I would like to make in my paper, as well as potential quotes. Additionally, the process of getting a works sited list built for the research paper is much closer to being completed with an annotated bibliography.

  3. I have created an annotated bibliography before this, but on a much less formal basis. One of the best things about having it done is that when writing a paper you recall a certain article talked about, for instance, the effect of radiation on plants, but can't remember which article it was, scanning the annotated bibliography can help you find it much more quickly than scanning other documents. In addition to this, it is easier to figure out what of the information may be important to include in the paper, which over all makes the writing process more streamlined.

  4. I have created an annotated bibliography before, although never one that I was able to use afterward. Annotated bibliographies are helpful to the development of a research project as well as the interpretation of the article from the audience. When creating a research article, having the background information written out in a succinct manner can provide an easy template for pertinent information.

  5. I haven't created a annotated bibliography before this class. If i did, then i can not remember when i did but i'm pretty sure i have not before. It helped to construct my report by helping me to know where to put the sources in the paper by learning more about the source.

  6. I, in a way created an annotated biblography. In my High School US History class we created notecards from our sources practicing proper citation and listing the importatnt information form that particular source. Just as in my history class pulling the basic information from the sources before writing the paper would have been halpful, however this requires knowing how the paper will evolve.

  7. This was the first time I went through the formal exercise of creating an annotated bibliography. When writing research papers, I was used to researching the topic ahead of time, and assembling the list of references upon which to build the paper from. In a way, I already had an annotated bibliography in my mind when I would see each reference and think about what it meant and what it would contribute to the paper. While I initially felt that making the actually annotated bibliography was a formality, it was extremely helpful in having all the references explained there on the same document. This made it easy to see where each citation would be placed within the outline of the paper, and in some cases, whether they would actually be needed and used. Also, my first research paper in high school was something I wrote then hunted for references to supplement with, which of course resulted in a bad paper. Writing an annotated bibliography first prevents that from happening
