Your resumes . . .

After completing the resume assignment, what would you say were the most significant items you learned in regard to the content of the resume as well as the design of it? In what ways do you think your resume is stronger now as compared to your original version? What do you think still needs to be improved?

  1. The most significant item i learned was the related items in the field of study. I never put that in until now because i hadn't really worked on anything in my field. I don't know much about the design except to keep in neat and easy to read. I think it is stronger now from the field of study and taking out the jobs that were not really significant to my career.

  2. The things that I learned from the resume review assignment was how to combine multiple sections into one well organized section. My other resumes had way too many sections with little information. By combining sections it made my resume easier to read. I still need to improve on making my resume less distracting. What can I say I love bullet points!

  3. The most significant thing i learned about writing a resume is one can put your most relevant classes on to the resume and it can take up space making it look longer. My resume isn't really any stronger it just looks nicer compared to my older one though. What needs to be improved are my references and jobs.

  4. I learned that education should appear toward the beginning of the resume rather than at the end, where I origionally had it. Finding educational information is an important fact for potiential employers to be able to find quickly and easily.

  5. I had far too much information, in an inappropriate format in my original resume. I paired down what I had written, and put it in a much more easily read format.
